Sauerkraut Recipe

cooking time: 2 hrs

 

Ingredients

  • 3 kg sauerkraut

  • peanut oil

  • 2 large onions, chopped

  • 4 tbsp brown sugar

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 3 canned tomatoes, strained

 

Method

 

1. Wash sauerkraut 3 or 4 times in cold water. Drain

2. Brown onion in peanut oil in large saucepan.

3. Add sauerkraut, sugar, soy sauce and tomatoes.

4. Cover and simmer for 2 hrs.
