Meat Cake Soup Recipe

cooking time: 45 minutes

 

Ingredients

  • 113 grams raw pork, finely chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 1/2  teaspoons soy sauce

  • 30 grams water chestnuts, chopped

  • 1 egg, raw

  • 850 ml light stock (or water)

Method

 

1. Season pork with salt, pepper and soy sauce.
2. Add water chestnuts, mix well.
3. Add egg to bind, stir and shape the mixture into a thick flat cake.
4. Pack the pork cake into a double boiler, add stock or water, cover tightly and cook over boiling

   water for 45 minutes.


Note:
Finely minced beef may be used instead of pork, and the meat may be fashioned into small cakes instead of one large one.
