Beef and Tomato Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 680 grams tomatoes

  • 1 dessertspoon sugar

  • 227 grams beef (rump)

  • 2 teaspoons peanut (or olive oil)

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 850 ml water

  • 1 dessertspoon soy sauce

  • 1 dessertspoon corn flour

  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Method

 

1. Skin tomatoes and cut into quarters, sprinkle with sugar and leave to stand.
2. Cut meat into thin strips.
3. Heat oil in saucepan, add garlic and salt.
4. When the garlic is browned, add water and bring to boil.
5. Add tomatoes and steak, cook for 5 minutes, add soy sauce.
6. Mix corn flour with water, stir into the soup, simmer, stirring to thicken, and serve.
