Steamed Beef with Rice Recipe

cooking time: 40 minutes

 

Ingredients

  • 450 grams lean beef, minced

  • 57 grams bamboo shoots

  • 30 grams preserved parsnips

  • few drops sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon con flour

  • 450 grams rice

  • 1 dessertspoon soy sauce

  • 4 eggs

  • 12 water chestnuts

  • 113 grams mushrooms

  • 30 grams ginger

  • few drops brandy

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • salt

  • 850 ml boiling water
     

Method

 

1. Combine all ingredients except rice and eggs.
2. Chop finely and season to taste.
3. Bring water to the boil, pour over rice and steam for 25-30 minutes.
4. Put beef mixture on top of rice, cover and steam for a further 7-8 minutes.
5. Break the eggs and slide neatly on top of the beef.
6. Steam with lid on until the whites set and serve.
