Steak with Oyster Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 340 grams rump steak

  • 1 knob green ginger

  • 1 dessertspoon soy sauce

  • 1 dessertspoon brandy

  • 1 dessertspoon corn flour

  • pinch salt

  • 1 dessertspoon oil

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed 

  • 2 dessertspoons oyster sauce

  • 140 ml water
     

Method

 

1. Slice meat wafer thin and pound the ginger.
2. Mix meat with ginger, soy sauce, brandy, corn flour and salt.
3. Heat oil in pan with garlic until garlic browns.
4. Discard garlic.
5. Add meat, stirring very briskly for 2 minutes.
6. Add oyster sauce and continue to cook fast, stirring all the time, for a further minute.
7. Add water, cook for half a minute and serve.
