Pork with Red Bean Curd Recipe

Ingredients

  • 680 grams pork (flank)

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 2 medium-sized potatoes

  • 2 eggs

  • 4 tablespoons milk

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 2 tablespoons red bean curd

  • 4 pieces Chinese aniseed

  • 1 lettuce
     

Method

 

1.  Bone the meat, sprinkle with salt and brush with soy sauce.
2.  Peel and slice the potatoes.
3.  Whisk eggs with milk and fry several very thin pancake omelettes.
4.  Cut these into pieces of uniform size.
5.  Heat oil in pan, fry the meat briskly for 10 minutes until it browns nicely.
6.  Allow to cool and cut into uniform slices
1/2-inch thick.
7.  Add red bean curd and mix well.

8.  Grease a bowl or deep dish lightly, put in a layer of meat, then a layer of potato slices, following with a

     layer of egg pancake. Repeat these layers until the dish is full.

9.  Scatter aniseed on top.

10. Place the dish in a pan of hot water and steam for 3 hours.

11. Serve in a dish lined with crisp lettuce leaves.
