Fivespice Duck Recipe

 

cooking time: 40 minutes

 

Ingredients

  • 570 ml soy sauce

  • 57 grams sugar

  • 1 tablespoon powdered

  • cinnamon

  • 1-2 aniseeds

  • 570 ml water

  • 1 duck, jointed

  • oil for deep frying

  • celery

  • salt

  • 3-4 spring onions, chopped

Method

 

1. Mix soy sauce, sugar, cinnamon, aniseed and water in a deep narrow pan.
2. Bring to the boil and add the duck.
3. Reduce heat at once and simmer gently for 30 minutes..
4. Drain the duck pieces, wipe dry and deep fry until golden.
5. Drain, sprinkle with celery salt and spring onions.
