Chicken with Chestnuts

Ingredients

  • 1/2 small chicken

  • 570 ml water

  • 450 grams chestnuts, peeled

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon corn flour

  • pepper

  • 3-4 spring onions, chopped

 

Method

 

1. Cut chicken into uniform pieces and cook slowly in water for 1 hour.
2. Add chestnuts, oil and soy sauce and simmer for 45 minutes.
3. Thicken with corn flour blended with 2 tablespoons water.
4. Season with pepper to taste, sprinkle with spring onions and serve.
