Braised Beef with Pimentos Recipe

 

Cooking time: 10 minutes

 

Ingredients

  • 450 grams beef (rump)

  • 450 grams pimentos

  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 140 ml water

  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 2 slices green ginger

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 dessertspoon soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoon water

  • 1 dessertspoon oyster sauce

  • 1 dessertspoon corn flour

 

Method

 

1. Slice meat finely.

2. Wash pimentos, open, remove seeds and shred.

3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil, add 1/2 teaspoon salt, toss the pimentos for 1 minutes.

4. Add half the water and simmer for 2 minutes.

5. Remove pimentos and place aside.

6. Heat remainder of oil, add garlic, salt and ginger.

7. Toss meat quickly until pale brown all over.

8. Add sugar, soy sauce and water.

9. Simmer for 3 minutes, add pimentos, cook for 1 minutes.

10. Add corn flour mixed with water. Blend in oyster sauce and serve.
