Ma Po Bean Curd Recipe

Ingredients

2 squares bean curd

1 teaspoon chopped garlic}(1)

1 tablespoon green onion}(1)

1 teaspoon chopped ginger root}(1)

57 grams chopped pork

1 tablespoon hot bean paste

1 tablespoon rice wine}(2)

1 cup water}(2)

1/2 teaspoon}(2)

1/2 teaspoon}(2)

1 tablespoon}(2)

1 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (corn flour)}(3)

1 tablespoon water}(3)

2 tablespoon 1/2 inch sections green onion or garlic stalk

1/4 teaspoon Szechuan peppercorn powder*

 

Method

 

  • Remove hard edges dice bean curd.

  • Heat pan and 3 tablespoon. oil; stir-fry (1) and chopped pork until fragrant, add (2) and bean curd, cover and cook 3 minutes, over low heat. Add (3) to thicken and 1/2 tablespoon. oil; toss ingredients lightly; remove to serving plate sprinkle green onion or garlic sections and peppercorn powder on top;  serve.
        * If unavailable, omit.
