Braised Chinese Mushrooms and Bean Curd Recipe

Ingredients

2 squares bean curd

oil for frying

3 pre-softened Chinese black mushrooms

10 1-inch sections green onion

3/4 Cup stock}(1)

1 tablespoon soy sauce}(1)

1 tablespoon oyster sauce}(1)

1/4 teaspoon MSG}(1)

1/4 teaspoon sugar}(1)

1 teaspoon cornstarch (corn flour)}(2)

2 teaspoons water}(2)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

 

Method

 

  • Cut Chinese black mushrooms in half; cut bean curd diagonally in half into triangles and then  cut each triangle through thickness into 3 slices. (You now have 12 triangular slices)

  • Heat oil for deep-frying; deep-fry bean curd over high heat until golden brown; remove and drain.

  • Heat pan and 4 tablespoons oil; stir fry green onion and Chinese black mushrooms until fragrant; add (1) and bean curd slices; cover and cook 5 minutes over low heat until the sauce has decreased to about half; add (2) to thicken sauce and 1 teaspoon sesame oil; toss ingredients lightly and remove to serving plate; serve.
